Fees vs. Taxes

Welcome to my first blog. The purpose of my blog is to make people aware of my position on various subjects. I will present the facts as I see them. I welcome differing opinions but please know that I am right, you are not.

Today's topic is fees versus taxes. Over the past several years the government has been imposing more and more fees on us. While I don't approve of any more fees or taxes, I believe fees are better, here's why. Taxes are paid by few people with the exception of Sales Tax. Fees are generally imposed on everyone. Sales tax is imposed on everyone (with the exception of non-profit organizations). An example would be an added fee on your cell phone bill. Everyone has a cell phone. Also, added taxes on fast food. Many of the people who dine exclusively on fast food don't pay other taxes. They are generally too lazy to prepare their own food so I can therefore justify them having to pay more for their food.

I pay income tax and property tax. Fewer than half of all Americans do. Illegal aliens pay no income or property tax. They do however pay sales tax on fast food and cell phone taxes and fees.

I agree with states that have higher sales tax and no income tax. Remember less than half of all Americans pay income tax and when you add in the non-Americans, the numbers are staggering!! Sales tax is equally paid by all consumers. Sure the rich pay more but they spend more. At least this way everybody has to pay their share.

This isn't rocket science people.
