The ANWR reserve in Alaska is 19 million acres of essentially nothing. I really don't think a few oil rigs are going to chase away the Porcupine Caribou.... Let's not forget the American jobs it will create...

Drilling for Oil in Alaska
I don't think people realize just how much oil we are sitting on. In this blog I am going to specifically talk about Alaska. There is a huge amount of oil under Alaska and Canada. It is estimated that it could be 16 billion barrels or more. Canada is drilling for it on their side, we are not. No big deal you say, it will always be there... Wrong!!! Imagine it is a great underground pool (which it essentially is). Let's compare it to Lake Superior which is also on the US Canadian border. Let's say Canada begins pumping water out of Lake Superior. Eventually it will all be gone and Canada will have it all. What I am saying is that Canada is essentially pumping oil which rests under US soil. We need to stop this and recover our own oil before it is too late.

Mr. X answered, "In my estimation, from the seismographic work and the drillings we have already done, I am convinced that there is as much oil under the North Slope of Alaska as there is in all of Saudi Arabia.
