Drilling for Oil in Alaska

I don't think people realize just how much oil we are sitting on. In this blog I am going to specifically talk about Alaska. There is a huge amount of oil under Alaska and Canada. It is estimated that it could be 16 billion barrels or more. Canada is drilling for it on their side, we are not. No big deal you say, it will always be there... Wrong!!! Imagine it is a great underground pool (which it essentially is). Let's compare it to Lake Superior which is also on the US Canadian border. Let's say Canada begins pumping water out of Lake Superior. Eventually it will all be gone and Canada will have it all. What I am saying is that Canada is essentially pumping oil which rests under US soil. We need to stop this and recover our own oil before it is too late.

The ANWR reserve in Alaska is 19 million acres of essentially nothing. I really don't think a few oil rigs are going to chase away the Porcupine Caribou.... Let's not forget the American jobs it will create...

The US Military

I have never served in the military nor do I have any close family members who have. My previous and future blogs mention and will mention government waste including pensions and health benefits. I want to set the record straight right now that I hereby exclude all of the military from my rants.

I have the utmost respect for any man or woman who has ever served or will ever serve in the United States Military. They are all heroes and deserve pensions and free health care for life. They are risking their lives for us and deserve even better benefits than they receive. When they are done serving, they should be able to relax in comfort worry free for the rest of their lives. Those of us who haven't served can't even imagine what the may have been through.

Many Americans hate the military. Without them we would probably all be speaking German today. They don't make the rules or decisions, they just follow orders without questioning them. What we did to the Vietnam veterans when they came home is a complete disgrace. As an American, I am ashamed. Jane Fonda may you rot in hell!!

To all of you who have served or will serve. Thank you. I suggest that anyone who reads this extend a big thank you as well...

The US Post Office

The United States Post Office expects a 8.5 billion dollar deficit this year. That is on top of the 34 billion it is already in debt. Ah yes, another government program mismanaged. What did they do about it? Hand out 3.5% pay raises across the board of course. I wish I could do that in my private sector business. What happened, how did things get so out of hand? They will tell you it's because of email and that seems to make sense but it's only partially true. The real reason is because of employee benefits including pensions. Do you understand what a government pension is? Employees continue to get paid even after they retire or lose their jobs. What?? Yes it's true, it's the same with all government pensions. The employees pay little or no money in to the pension and the taxpayers pick up the tab for the rest. It's the same with their health benefits, they continue even after they are no longer employed.

How can we fix the post office?? Well for starters, we need to dissolve the union or negotiate new contracts eliminating pensions and stopping health benefits upon retirement, that's what we have Medicare for isn't it? Here's an easy fix... Stop mail delivery on Saturday... Duh...

Voter ID

Love him or hate him, you are an idiot if you don't agree with Governor Scott Walker's voter id Bill. Sure the democrats hate it. Why? Because they benefit the most from voter fraud. Remember "smokes for votes" a few years ago?

You need id to board a plane, cash a check, open a bank account, buy liquor and in some cases buy spray paint!!! So how can people possibly think that it's ok not to show an id to vote?? Who doesn't have an id?? Even a crack whore has to cash a check once in a while. Even a homeless drunk needs an id to buy booze at Pick n Save!! Don't tell me people don't have id's. They can go to their local dmv and get a non-driver id if they don't have a driver's license!!

The voter id law unfortunately will not take effect before the recall elections in Wisconsin. When it does take effect I think we are going to see just how much voter fraud there has been in Wisconsin.

Voter id...... YES!!!

The Donald for President?

I have discussed this issue with many people and have found few that think he would make a good president. I do believe he would make a good president, here's why:

Our government can no longer survive as it is. We are incurring way too much debt. I believe government needs to be run as a business. As a business owner, I can only spend what I take in. In a competitive industry I am unable to raise prices. My only option is to cut expenses. I can do this through wage freezes, pay cuts or attrition. I can stop services that I can do without and I can negotiate better prices. I can reduce employee benefits or I can simply close or sell.

Our government does not operate that way. If they need more money, they simply raise taxes or fees. The time has come for our government to live within it's means. We simply can no longer spend more money than we take in. Americans can not afford higher taxes. We are sick of government waste and foreign aid to countries who hate us and wish to do us harm.

Donald Trump is a proven businessman. He is able to make tough decisions that this country so desperately needs. Who was the last president who had any balls? Ronald Regan hands down. I believe Mr. Trump or someone with a business background are the only way we will be able to reverse our path to bankruptcy.

So you don't like Mr. Trump? How about Herman Cain? We need a businessman people, not another lawyer or career politician.

Fees vs. Taxes

Welcome to my first blog. The purpose of my blog is to make people aware of my position on various subjects. I will present the facts as I see them. I welcome differing opinions but please know that I am right, you are not.

Today's topic is fees versus taxes. Over the past several years the government has been imposing more and more fees on us. While I don't approve of any more fees or taxes, I believe fees are better, here's why. Taxes are paid by few people with the exception of Sales Tax. Fees are generally imposed on everyone. Sales tax is imposed on everyone (with the exception of non-profit organizations). An example would be an added fee on your cell phone bill. Everyone has a cell phone. Also, added taxes on fast food. Many of the people who dine exclusively on fast food don't pay other taxes. They are generally too lazy to prepare their own food so I can therefore justify them having to pay more for their food.

I pay income tax and property tax. Fewer than half of all Americans do. Illegal aliens pay no income or property tax. They do however pay sales tax on fast food and cell phone taxes and fees.

I agree with states that have higher sales tax and no income tax. Remember less than half of all Americans pay income tax and when you add in the non-Americans, the numbers are staggering!! Sales tax is equally paid by all consumers. Sure the rich pay more but they spend more. At least this way everybody has to pay their share.

This isn't rocket science people.
